Kicking Off The OC

So I wasn't a follower of the OC last year, but I sat down and watched the season opener tonight. Yeah...that show is pretty emotional, and you can always find some way to relate your life to what's going on. The part I don't get...why would a mother ever tell her daughter to lie and say that she lost the baby? I understand that Ryan was with her
