For niqaeli (I managed it, yay!)

I WASN'T EXPECTING YOU JUST YET.

Daniel looked at the seven-foot skeleton, and raised a quizzical finger.

"Am I dead?" he asked.

Death manifested an hourglass. The sand within wasn't trickling down.

NO. BUT YOU DON'T SEEM TO BE EXACTLY ALIVE, EITHER.

"Ah," Daniel muttered sourly. "Schroedinger's archaeologist."

COME AGAIN?

"It doesn't matter. What now?"

USUALLY I SAY SOMETHING LIKE "WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?" USUALLY THE PERSON IS ACTUALLY DEAD, THOUGH.

"I'll just go, will I?" Daniel said.

PROBABLY BEST, Death agreed. He sipped his tea, frowning at his suddenly empty study. ASCENSION, he muttered. LOAD OF NONSENSE.
