Rage. I have it.

My little sister started watching Wild Child so I sat down to watch it as well. Got about 10 minutes in before my rage was too great and I had to either leave and make an angry blog post or leave and hunt down the creators of it.

It's basically a movie in which the American lead is sent to English boarding school by her omgsoharsh dad because her ( Read more... )

Of course not! Only American's speak American! British speak British. Some people may be unaware that they're actually different dialects of the same language, but they are in the vast minority. Point is, no one would say "They speak American over here" because they just don't. Everyone who does think that American-English is actually it's own unique language wouldn't be able to understand British-English very well anyway.

And that movie sounds horrible. Like everything I hate about movies rolled into one package and topped with British accents to try and get me to watch it.

That Movie makes me rage so bad, partly because it's blatently ripping off the success of St Trinians which was released earlier that year.

(But, like, no one believes that the lnaguage is called American, right? Everyone knows that it's English, right?

Right?

Right?

Really? Ahh, I'm flattered. This blog is just all of my stuff that's related to pop culture of some sort, so it's just my writing and rants, pretty much.

I'm glad you like it!

I am so scared right now.

I am so, so scared right now.

No one would actually say that. Unless as a joke. Or if they are completely stupid and beyond redemption.

That's what makes me rage the most.

I-I don't know.

I really don't know if it was meant as a joke.

And what kind of joke.

Like, 'lol, someone could actually think that'.

Or, 'lol, people actually think this D:'

The language's goddamned name is English. You speak American English. If you must rape it the way you do, at least leave it its metaphorical dignity and call it by its name. This is like .... picking up a female hooker, calling out a male's name and then short charging her. D:

I think I'm just going to curl up in the corner and stare blankly.

I don't know, don't take it out on me! ( ´д `) Not all Americans are ignorant, stupid, or 'rape the language' - and I know you didn't say that, but rest assured that there are many Americans that are equally exasperated/disgusted with our fellows when they speak improperly!

We're not all so awful, a lot of the times it's just the media picking out the stupidest people in the country and putting them on T.V and that makes everyone else think Americans are all the same, awful in every way.

No, no no no, I wasn't referring to you in particular! I just was tired and wasn't thinking about how to word my comment, haha. I meant 'you' as in ... ah ... third person, non-gender specific pronoun! Not as in you-you.

/beats head against desk

Then again, I can see how a more simplified version of English would be useful.
