^_^ I read your comment on Steph's journal about SW being good. It's nice to know others who actually know who they are.
If you haven't heard of The Dreaming, I recommend checking them out: http://www.thedreamingonline.com/ The lead singer might sound a little familiar ^_~

As far as I can tell, there are no issues of political philosophy at stake in this particular incident. It appears to be a tragic failure of communication between U.S. military forces, and U.S. and Italian diplomatic offices. I neither understand why the hostage herself is at fault, nor the point at which this incident intersects domestic partisan debate.
My only guess is that "liberals" may be asserting that the fault lies with the U.S. military, and is indicative of a greater failure in military approach, procedure and chain of command. Perhaps this is a "conservative" defense of the president in his commander-in-chief role, then? [I put “liberals” and “conservatives” in quotes because these terms popularly describe supporters and opponents of the current administration, respectively, and not a consistent policy platform.] Just as much as I doubt any fault lies with the journalist, I doubt that President Bush is feasibly responsible for the incident. I am interested in your perspective. Please elaborate at your leisure.
