Maybe he's trying out for the "Mike Tyson of Football" title?
I don't really get athletics, to be honest. When we put such a high premium on only one aspect of what a person can do, we're pretty much saying, "We could care less if you're a monster, so long as you can run and catch a ball." Naturally, people will surface who are good at that one trait, and handlers, talent scouts, and an all too eager audience gladly ignore the character flaws behind their talent. Until it's no longer possible or popular to do so, then we'll replace them with a different flavor of the week, proving how little we cared about them in the first place.
Doesn't pay to be an athlete. It DOES pay to be a parasite on one, though. In my next career, I'm totally going to be the guy who says, "Hey, champ, you like that girl, hunh? Want me to score you some coke, too? Sure, star, pass me a few bills and I'll make your night!"
I'm trying to figure out what team in their right mind would draft him - the guy is definitely unstable and I'd think would be an absolute PR nightmare.
I tend to agree, but unless he does badly during training before this year's draft, I suspect some team out there will take a chance on him.
He does have a good playing record, when he isn't suspended, and I suspect his contract will be worded in such a way where he'll be going year-by-year and can lose copious amounts of cash for poor behavior.
