The best mouse in the world is the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical. Four main buttons, a scrool wheel, and scroll button. Not too many, not too few, and feels great in your hand. Buttons can be mapped to do ANYTHING. I have mine set up so that the left button is CTRL, and the right button minimizes the current window.

Handiest damn button map EVAH.

That's the mouse *I* own, and as soon as the new computer is set up, I can reattach it to my tiny god and be happy.
