Since I have moved back home to my city, I have been fortunate to see gay couples displaying affection and it makes me happier than most things these days.

Two 20-something women holding hands walking and talking down State Street. The young college girl and her genderqueer girlfriend holding hands and looking into each others eyes at the farmer's market. The Fair Wisconsin and PFLAG booths on the square. It all makes everything seem so much more worthwhile. It makes the fight all that more important. I want to go up to each of them, hug them and say thank you. Instead I just smile and nod if I happen to catch their eyes.

I love little snippets of people's lives like this.
