It’s raining real hard and I need you here with me. I need you to lie with me and drown out the sky’s loud boom. I need you to say my name because the sound of your voice makes me smile like an innocent child. But I think that’s too much to ask from someone like you.
When you broke your favorite blue coffee mug, I bought you two new ones and kept one for myself, just in case you ever broke it again. And whenever you were sad, I listened to you because it hurt me to see you in pain. So where are you now?
The sky goes BOOM BOOM and I hide beneath the coffee table. Another BOOM and I cover my ears with my hands, curling my body into a tight circle.
I whimper, “Eunhyuk.”
Over and over again, I murmur your name in hopes that you’ll appear. But you never do and it’s alright. I am strong. And I can be strong without you.
But Eunhyuk, the sky is very loud tonight. And I want you to lie with me and say: “Hae Hae Hae, we are having nice weather.”
So please take me into your arms. Wipe away my tears and help me keep quiet.
