I am serious about my journal - I don't have one just because my friends have one, but because I find it truly theraputic to write down what one is feeling. I have decided to make my journal "private" - only to be viewed by me. I will no longer walk on eggshells due to the existence of an audience.

Thats what hand journals are for. Blogs are for sharing. Blog being an online journal. The only reason people get into so many fights on livejournal is because people are like "Fuck other people's feelings, this is MY journal, I say anything I want" which is basically what I believe you should be doing. If you dont want to target a person you can codename them, the most common being "you" because you can refer it to everyone and no one is really sure who you are speaking of sometimes, but other times its quite obvious :)
