heheh, but the guy fails to make the bone drawings realistic sometimes. like making bones places where it is probably muscle, or not making bones where there is probably something. at least cartilidge. like the powerpuffgirls, they have no nose, but have noseholes.

Hahaha. The characters are cartoons. They are not realistic in the first place. But seriously, you are right. I wouldn't be surprised if the artist thought the same thing as you. When he started drawing them, he may have modified them to look more like familiar skeletal systems for aesthetic purposes.
