Why you may ask? My son's name is Dagan and your name is the closest I've ever come across to being the same as his.

It's actually my middle name. Heh. I pronounce it "Day-gin" with a hard g sound like in golf, instead of a soft g, like in gingerale.

I alwyas wonder what possesed my mother to use it when I was younger, but now, I like it a lot. Nobody else has it. Hee.

We pronounce his name the same. He's had people mispronounce it soooo much though, ugh...

We chose it for him because of the meaning: Little fish, God of fish and God of water. I think it has a meaning pertaining to grain also. His middle name is Matthew. So yeah, all about those fish.
