Heterosexual couples have civil unions all the time... just they call them marriage tho... so how do you figure?

I'm gay and my BF and I have talked about this... I don't mind calling it a civil union, but gay people in general are selfish and want to call it marriage. The Gvt shouldn't marry people, a church should. The Gvt needs to call any joint union, between a man and a woman or a man and a man, etc. just that... a Civil Union. They should also recognize it and not call marriage, cos like they say, church and state are seperate. But homosexuals in general are selfish and want to be "married". Well you know what, you need to bite the bullet, call it something different for the heteros to take down easier and it will be accepted. Like I was taught, you gotta give a little to get a little.
