I spent last weekend in Stuttgart, the city where I spent my youth. My father and my brother still live there, and we had a party for my father's 70. birthday

Well, the lying cow *did* jump to her feet before I was finished, so I had to guess a bit about her croup and hip area, and I know that part is not quite right.
Very nice drawings :) Talking about cows - the most beutiful eyes have got cows of India. They may be somewhere else, of course, probably similar cows are in Africa. These with a sharp bone on their back (neck) - I don't know how to describe it better.
Zebu. Yes, they are beautiful indeed! You are so right about their eyes. They had a small herd of dwarf zebus at the fair. In recent years they have become quite popular here, mostly kept by hobby farmers or as pets.
When we came to the fair, the judging was already over and the prize rosettes hung over the stands. But it was a very hot day, and the animals suffered from the heat under the stable tent. An Aberdeeen Angus bull, black as dark night, was taken outside for a nice cooling shower under a water hose. That was quite a sight!
The pictures are wonderful as always. I especially like the head in the first one. You must have some secret Paulus Potter genes somewhere. ;) The cow race names made me chuckle (insert German pun on missing "l" in one of them).

You are so good in depicting animals - it looks as if they're ready to jump from the paper any moment.
Thank you so much for sharing these!

I love going to fairs and seeing the animals. I think it's especially fun to watch while they give them baths and spiff them up for the competitions.
Your drawings are fabulous.

I like the idea of Paulus Potter genes! Or maybe of George Stubbs or Heinrich von Zügel.
