So. I was rewatching The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit because... mainly because I was bored but partly because I wanted to see what colour Ten's shoes were.
Turns out I got the right colour, which makes me happy. I loves my new shoes.
Anyway. I have speculation for the finale!
I dunno if anyone's said this--they probably have (bless fandom)--but whatever.
So. In The Stolen Earth, it is said that there will be "everlasting death for the most faithful companion".
In The Satan Pit, the Beast describes Rose as "the valiant child who will die in battle so very soon".
Now, I think it was common consensus that this meant that she would be trapped in alt!universeland, which I guess means she's "dead" in this world. Even though she wasn't actually "in battle" as the term is ordinarily used.
I think it means she'll die in Journey's End. She's very faithful to the Doctor (wanting to stay with him, crossing over universes, etc.) and she's obviously going to battle with her huge-ass gun as she attempts to channel Ace.
In Fear Her, the Doctor mentions that "a storm is coming". Again, this was at the time viewed as foreshadowing the Series 2 finale. But what if it wasn't? Army of Ghosts/Doomsday could be seen as a "storm", but I think that what's going on in the 4 finale is a bit more major and stormlike.
Therefore, I believe Rose is going to be the dead one.
