Doctor Who: THE PREMIERE (a week late...)

Apr 13, 2008 03:50

So, wow. This week has been kind of insane for me. I kept meaning to do the post for the premiere of Doctor Who, but first I was too upset over Torchwood, and then I was in denial over Torchwood, and then school went insane and a bunch of other stuff happened and before I knew it a week had gone by and it's time for me to do Episode Two and I haven ( Read more... )

AGREED. Except am fearing Donna may become not so win. She's not annoying me now, not really, but I'm nervous that she will. Ugh.

The Fires of Pompeii was brilliant, yes.

Adipose == technical term for fat tissue. Oh, when RTD tries to be clever...

I thought the opening was a bit slow, when they kept missing each other, but then when they finally saw each other and tried to have a conversation across the room and everyone else was just watching them.... win!

I totally <3 Donna. "You're not mating with me, sunshine!"

Rose. No comment.

ARG I HAVE NOT YET SEEN POMPEII BECAUSE LIFE IS CRAZINESS.

(Hiya. How's it going?)

Yeah, I know... Personally, if I were RTD, I'd keep the clever references... only I'd make them incredibly obscure. With references to Whitman and Dylan Thomas and Tennyson and like a million other poets and authors and works. So all the English majors can jump up and down and squee and everyone else can go "huh?". XD

Heh. Donna is lovely, yes. Right now, at least.

The more I think about Rose, the more I'm actually liking the idea. Although I think at the end she should go back to her universe because of her responsibilities there (assuming she really is working for Torchwood--I'M SPOILER FREE SO DON'T TELL ME).

BUT.

I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.

(Hello, darling! It's going all right. Bit crazy. I have a sociology presentation on Tuesday, in which I have to present the findings of a small research thing, which I haven't started at all...)

(watch how it takes me a week to reply to these comments. Craziness.)

I like the idea of Rose coming back if, and only if:
a. There is no angst.
b. There is no petty jealousy.
c. There are no emo!tears
d. She leaves on her own terms, because she's grown up and has responsibilities and a life outside the Doctor, and they are both okay with it.

I know these things won't happen.

STILL HAVE NOT SEEN POMPEII. *cries*

Just to nitpick a little ... anonymous April 14 2008, 14:22:31 UTC
The woman they tied up in a chair wasn't the employee who was hitting on the Doctor. That was that reporter who'd been asking so many questions earlier. Makes me wonder how many other people were snooping around ...

Ahh... really? Okay.

In my defense, I was doing this at four in the morning... and my memory=nothing.

But then, what was she doing in the room at that time? Huh...

If you're going to set up a big mysterious company out of nowhere, you've gotta be prepared for people snooping. XD
