Greg sat down reading a book having the night off. It felt nice not having to have a babysitter and just spending time with his son. He didn't get much time for that with work so he enjoyed the time he got. He'd had put Alex to bed after a long day of playing and taking him out. Now it was daddy's relaxing time with his cup of coffee and a book. That was until he heard Alex scream out loudly and Greg was up even spilling his coffee on the way.
He was half up the steps when he saw his son running at him as fast as he could. He saw tears down the little boy's cheeks and he frowned picking him up and holding him close. He kissed the top of his head and sat down with him.
"What's wrong little man?"
"Daddy had a bad dream."
"About what Alex?"
"Killers coming after me."
Greg frowned at that and hugged him and kissed the top of his head. His son had one hell of an imagination. He smiled and looked down at him.
"That won't happen."
"What if I go and be a cop?"
"Then you are chasing them son."
That made Alex look up at him and smile just a little. Greg smiled and watched as his son curled into him. He kissed his son's head once more.
"Wanna stay up a bit with daddy? Then we can camp out in my room."
"Will be make a tent?"
"We'll make a big tent and sleep inside it."
"I'd like that daddy."
Greg cuddled with his son before true to his word, they set up a make shift tent. A tent made out of sheets and chairs, he crawled into them and rested with his son. He watched over Alex until he fell asleep and smiled. He fell asleep soon after.
