Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Masaru is pretty average height for his age, he’s not heavy, and in fact has that long limbed look of a lot of young teenagers in a growth spurt. BUT he’s also built like a little tank, esp. in the arms. When he grows up he has a slightly thick neck and shoulders

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
He can be kinda slouchy, but not awfully so. He tends to lean forward into other’s space. Leads heavily with his shoulders
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
GREAT physical shape. Masaru is in his prime shape.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
When he’s not fighting Masaru tends to be, not clumsy, but not exactly graceful either. He gestures a lot, jabs forward, jerks his head a lot like a snazzy bird or puppy. His movements are very forward and almost aggressive.
When he’s fight on the other hand Masaru is practically a professional artist. He does flips, jumps and all kinds of crazy acrobatics… and tends to land on his feet like a cat.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Masaru inherited a lot of ‘pretty’ from his mother, but in turn a lot of his father’s ‘meatiness’ in the shoulders and neck. So he’s not quite handsome and not quite pretty (though probably more pretty then not). In the end he kinda settles into cute at best. His hair and eyes make him look a lot like a girl if you can ignore his beef arms. When he’s older he ‘grows’ into his large eyes a little and looks a little more toward handsome.
He doesn’t think of his own appearance at all.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
A sliiiight tan from being outside a lot, but not dark. He matches his ruddy hair and green eyes combo well by not being too pale. He’s pretty clear skinned since, lol anime character. But at his age he probably breaks out semi often XD
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Somewhere between chestnut and red, depending on the artist of the day XD. In general you could probably say brown with heavy red undertones. In the right light it’s practically on fire.
It’s long and pretty like a girl’s, and his half ponytail doesn’t help with that image. He doesn’t take care of it beyond washing, but was lucky with genetics so it’s decently soft. He’s probably got split ends and wind damage all over it though.
When it’s not tied back it’s actually really fluffy. In SC it’s even longer due to not having him mom there to drag him to the barber every few months
9. What color are his eyes?
A very vivid olive green. They are very bright and large for a boy and extreme expressive. He inherited them from his dad and could easily be pointed out as his best feature.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
BEEF ARMS, lol no other then being a bit too built for his age, not really
11. What are his chief tension centers?
His hands. Masaru tenses his hands when he’s stressed, and also tends to punch things when he’s upset. His knuckles are scarred up.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Casual and comfortable. His first outfit is just jeans, a tee, and an overshirt. His second casual outfit is a little more hipster meets Square Enix, with unneeded buckles and loops. But still very lose and comfy.
He loves reds and orange in his clothing.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Very comfy, though his pant in his second outfit look like they might be a little too big on him. Over all it’s always for comfort first.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
…His work clothing is a skin tight power rangers style body suit with a fruity little jacket and pointy boots. 8|
He doesn’t seem to mind it, but it’s very different then his personal clothing. His school uniform is in the suit and tie style. He wears it very sloppily.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Masaru’s voice is a little deep for his age, but tends to pitch up suddenly when he’s being a spazz. In fact it’s got the warbling range of well… a teenaged boy whose voice is still cracking a bit. It’s a little gravely sometimes.
When he’s angry (not pissy, not yelling, but I WILL KILL YOU mad) his voice drops a lot and gets very rough.
He also has a kinda cute singing voice, which is deeper then his speaking voice.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Masaru PROJECTS. He’s a kid that speaks from his diaphragm with every breath. He doesn’t babble, but talks quickly and surely. He leans forward when he wants to be heard and tends to force eye contact and his way into personal space. He’s loud even when he’s not yelling.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
He doesn’t have an accent exactly, but he does mimic a lot of the ‘thug’ verbalisms. He kinda talks a bit like a punk, even outside using gang terms once and awhile (mostly just Aniki and the like). Masaru also has a bit of a potty mouth, even calling Yoshino a bitch in the second episode.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Japanese. He can’t speak or write English worth a damn.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Nope.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Masaru doesn’t think about his words. At all. He CAN pull off a oddly touching speech when he get worked up enough, but it’s always from the gut.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Kinda inarticulate, he doesn’t try and talk pretty XD But like I said, when he’s feeling very shonen strongly he can pull out good speeches and pep talks.
…he often mixes up words and sayings.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
…ha-ha
No, Masaru isn’t…stupid. But he has NO common sense, and is NOT book smart. In fact he’s almost been held back at least once. He can be clever sometimes, but he’s more of a headfirst more then brain first types of guy
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
On his feet. Everything is guts and instinct.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Intuitive. In fact unless he has time to stew Masaru doesn’t really think PERIOD. He does what pops into his head with little consideration at all. He’s very idealistic.
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Middle school 83
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Punching bitches. Really, he has no educational drive. In fact he drops out of middle school to go traveling in an alien world with no issue.

EXTROVERT IN EVERY WAY
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Moodier then a 13 year old girl on her period. Masaru swings from happy to rage to tears like the wind blows. And everything is felt to the hilt
He’s generally very cheerful when not in some kind of conflict.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Enthusiastic, but can make snap judgments that are hard to change with little cause. He can be either very hard or very easy to make friends with depending on his mood. He’s not very shy about anything though.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?

Fight, very fight.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
He loves jokes, and can occasionally be a bit of a troll. He’s 14, and so still love dirty jokes of both the sophomoric and sexy kind (even if he doesn’t always get the sexy ones)
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
Serious anger issues. LOL MAYBE BIPOLAR?! Hell if I know. Masaru used to lash out physically a lot, though by the canon point he’s currently at he’s calmed down some.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
His father leaving home, full out. His entire world view is based around ‘catching up’ with his father.
14. What does he fear?
Things happening to his family and friends, especially Chika. In fact when a digimon was trying to use the team’s fears and despair against them, while Touma was reliving his mother’s death and Yoshino her insecurities of not being good enough…
Masaru just dreamed of losing Chika. Though it was in a very silly and childish way of her literally being carried away by digimon.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
None at all. Other then what ever his current goal is (defeat this threat, etc.) he doesn’t plan ahead at all.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Nothing at all, he’s such an open book that ‘Dick and Jane’ is advanced.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
He adores them. His mother is the best to him, and his dad is like a mystical role model he strives to match
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Chika, his baby sister! He adores her as well, but is veerrry protective of her. Even so they tend to snipe each other and bicker like any siblings. He’s also rather embarrassing to her often.
Now in SC things are a little more strained due to her being OLDER then him and him leaving home in her timeframe. But that’s healing nicely.
He also considers Ikuto and Agumon his little brothers. In SC Armstrong is his substitute big brother figure.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
You don’t really see any other family in canon, but he’s probably friendly towards them
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? Ikuto and Agumon are his little brothers 83c, he’s also on good terms with Yoshino. He asks Touma to ‘be part of his family for a day’ when he needs someone to be there for Chika and seems to have no idea how deeply that touches the other boy. He ‘adopts’ people very easily
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Agumon! They met due to a fist fight then became best buds and brothers in arms. Among humans it’s probably Touma, though their relationship is also part rivalry and antagonism as often as it’s friendly.
In SC it’s probably Tavros and Armstrong, though Tav is his age category friend and Armstrong is his big bro friend.
6. Does he have other close friends?
Yoshino, the other digimon, he has an odd antagonistic/advisory/bitchy relationship with Kartkat in SC and really admires Roy as well.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Heee, depends on the day, the person, and Masaru’s mood. He has a kind of crazy charisma that can carry people along, but he’s also very aggressive and confrontational too. He usually knows if hes going to be friends with someone right away.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Family, but to him there’s almost no difference
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single~
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope!
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
He hasn’t had one yet! Don’t tell *blush*
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
He has no idea, but it’d have to be someone willing to go along with his madness, but also willing to slap him down if he gets out of control.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? nope! And while he might have kids one day, he;s more the wandering the world type then the settling down type.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Touma is his rival! He hasn’t meet Kouki yet, who is his personal foe in a lot of ways. He’s just beat Kurata so that’s no longer an issue.
He half jokingly calls Toph his ‘great rival’ sometimes, but it’s really more him failing at knowing WHAT to call her in relationship to him. They aren’t friends in the classic sense (and it’s certainly not like THAT), but she does make him strive to do better.
Oddly Karkat does the same, just in an even meaner way XD
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?

Okay seriously he has no idea. He’s still at that stage where his sexuality is still finding out where it is. Kinda a late bloomer.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
It doesn’t squick him or anything. But he’s not really interested in it. If someone got his attention though he’d probably be very curious. He’s still pretty young though.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
He’s a classic Aries, yes.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? he’s not spiritual in the classic sense. But he does have a strong faith in good and his own ‘soul’ and power, and those of his friends and family. Kinda goes hand in hand with literally seeing his own soul in use and connecting it with another, after all.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? He has a strong sense of right and wrong, but nothing he could write out. BUT the one thing he finds unforgivable is betrayal. To Masaru this is a offense worthy of the greatest punishment. He could easily grow into the vigilante type when it comes to justice.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He’s usually pretty relaxed as long as it’s not so far out he finds it repugnant (such as Kouki’s bloodlust and disregard towards living things, or Kurata’s feeling of hate)

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Comfortable. There’s a good chance the government pays for his family due to his father’s disappearance. He seems to have no money issues and lives in a fairly nice home.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? Middle class
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
A house! A nice one too. It’s the same one he’s been in all his life and it means a lot to him.
In SC he lives in a double apt. with Armstrong even though they aren’t partners anymore.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Food XD, teenaged guy stuff (games, movies the arcade). He likes to bring treats to the Watch Office sometimes.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? Back home he’s in DATS (Digital Accidents and Tactics Squad (I think?!) ), which is basically the digimon cops. He’s their best fighter by the canon point he’s taken from.
In SC he’s a patrolman in the Watch. He GENERALLY does a good job, but sometimes get’s distracted.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Physical activity. He likes to run around the park, explore, work out, play fight and talk Tav into crazy shit. When he;s a little more relaxed he likes to veg in front of the tv or play games.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He eats like a horse. No booze, he hates the smell of it and is too young for it. His fave food is eggs and curry.
