character's name- Agatsuma Soubi
series- LOVELESS
character's age- 20
canon point- Just after the fight with BLOODLESS; upon finding Kio in his quaint prison the shack. ; Almost up-to-date in canon (lack of translations) and also provides a more in-depth background to characters and their interaction with one another.

history- Not much to wiki. A written history can be found here!

personality-

At first glance, Soubi is one of those types. You know, mysterious and quiet. Gorgeous and full of intrigue. But never mind so much as to what is on the outside - Soubi is a entirely different case where it counts most.

Extremely contradictory (in both action and speech), Soubi's ideals are often conflicting, and his true feelings on things such as pain and control - very important aspects to a Fighter unit - are never made clear. While someone asks him if an injury hurts (and to any normal person, it would), he would say the opposite. As far as the issue of control is concerned, Soubi has a strangely developed God complex, specifically involving Seimei. Part of his training dictates that the Sacrifice be any and everything to a Fighter, Master and God. He takes this in a literal sense, following and obeying Seimei's commands despite his (supposedly) being dead. So, though Ritsuka is now his Master, Soubi cannot find it in himself to do as Ritsuka orders if it contradicts with Seimei's prior bidding. Most of the time, this sort of arrangement confuses people - especially Ritsuka, who would ask the truth of Seimei's death - and sometimes, he finds it almost amusing. Though concerning others besides Ritsuka. However, in many instances throughout the series, it is believed that Soubi is actually a masochist and is convinced feeling pain is a necessary in proving himself/forming a connection. Such as when he asks Ritsuka to punish him the times he knows he has done things wrong, or persevering despite being unable to stand [male Zeros nailing of Soubi's hand, female Zeros lynching, relatively any spell battle]. But it may be said that Soubi is selective, though, since he shuns Ritsu's offer to control his life, instead choosing those he deems worthy and strong - e.i., Seimei, Ritsuka.

In addition to this latent masochism, Soubi can often be described as having a shota complex. There is little evidence to prove this in the series, but there are several moments where Soubi can be seen kissing and fondling Ritsuka. As well as his peculiar interest in the male Zeros later on. Kio even accuses him of these things directly, where he is answered with a blunt, "I am not a pervert." Still, Soubi's known for being a liar and vague about the truth; it's as equally difficult to prove this statement true as it could be false. He also informs Ritsuka's teacher, Shinonome-sensei, that he "dislikes those older than him", but this could be in reference to the fact she still retains her virginity even at such an age. Jealousy? Of course not. This particular syndrome may also stem from the fact Soubi only knows how to interact with young adolescents (particularly boys) as the only adult figure in his life was an instructor whose form of teaching involved beating ideals into him and taking his ears virginity at a young age.

Much later, it's revealed that Soubi has many insecurities, those of which include a somewhat severe abandonment issue. He confesses to Kio that he doesn't understand why he is always left behind, fully willing to go anywhere he is told without question. This stems from the fact everyone in Soubi's life eventually leaves - Soubi's parents' death, Ritsu surrendering him to Seimei, Seimei's death. Even when Youji and Natsuo return to Nagisa, it reminds him how easily it is for others to desert him. He clings to Ritsuka, metaphorically, without fully explaining this fear.

Overall, Soubi can be genuinely kind to others, liking to tease (as he does with Kio) in good-natured fun. He's also stubborn once he has his mind set to a particular goal [winning/defeating a particular enemy in battle, not being friends with anyone in college pre-Kio]. But when it comes down to it, he can also be merciless and cruel, specifically as a Fighter, since he sees himself as nothing more than an object to be mastered by those that own him.

facts-

In appearances, Soubi is a somewhat normal young adult: he attends college, majoring in the traditional arts - why yes, he can really draw/paint - (his specialty being flowers), is particularly well-rounded in domestic skills such as cooking [ harbored international culture interests, anyone? ], and lives on his own in a nicely furnished apartment due to a mysterious income. At least, for a "starving artist-slash-student" type. All of these things, though, only exist in a day-to-day world of monotony.

Being a Fighter, he has rather extensive abilities once initiated into battle. A master of words - all LOVELESS confrontations are fought this way - Soubi is an expert at bending them to his will. His high tolerance for pain, more so masochistic tendencies, make him a rather deadly opponent as he can take a great deal of damage and still continue to fight. In later chapters, where Soubi fights Nisei, it's noted Soubi favors light-based attacks; typical light versus dark association. A few specific examples of the spells Soubi has used in both manga and anime: sleep, fire, and snow. They aren't nearly simplistic as that, depending on the level of the Fighter's vocabulary, but unfortunately, there has been little elaboration as to what one is/isn't limited to.

To note: Soubi is also particularly skilled at luring in the children (approximately 90% success rate), and is genuinely good at looking pretty ♥

sample action post-

[ For a moment, there's nothing but heavy silence. His breathing, perhaps, is a little jagged. But then, the lowest whisper. ]

It's only another...

[ Quiet again, as if the sound of his own voice is peculiar when it hadn't been before. He’s looking around, disoriented and confused. Disliking this lack of control over his own person; he knows better. A touch to his sleeve, and he rubs his fingers together. In his other hand: chalk. ]

This isn't mine. I wonder if it's-- Hm. He wouldn’t use this.

[ Soubi takes a few steps, examining the things around him. He knows it can’t be home. ]

Ritsuka? Ah, Kio...? Where is this place?

[And there's the silence once more - walking, breathing, an occasional unintelligible sound as he moves into the street. Thoughts on moving, going, seeking. I’ll find you.]

Here! [ Taken from when I played him at gargleblasted. I will gladly write something else if needed. ]
