I sent an email out last night, but I didn't send it to a ton of people. It's a fun game I've proposed. So far, if I include myself, I have 6 responses and 4 are confirmations to play.

If you want to play, respond or email me.

Dearest crazy folk,

You are being cordially spammed to play in a serious version of a game
invented (or relayed to me) by the chair of the physics and astronomy
department at Beloit College -- Dr. Paul Stanley. I am hoping Paul is
willing to serve as a rules arbiter, unless he wishes to play.

The game is simple: using internet searching tools, your goal is to
find the most expensive round-trip, economy airfare price, which is
possible to be purchased under the umbrella of a single flight
itinerary. I include a sample pdf file I made tonight, although you
can see part of the flight is accidentally business class, so we can
leave game rules later for players.

As anyone can play this game alone, a suggested gift of ~$50 USD from
each player will go towards the winner to recognize their supreme
google fu. The collective gift should be used to purchase the winner
a flight to the most-losing party (or next loser to ensure a different
city) -- whether or not they personally know each other -- and the
remainder can be freely spent between the two as they see fit.

I would like to have the game run until the new year. If you are
interested, please reply to me in a timely manner; at that time a
discussion of rules and methods will ensue. Recruiting more players
is favorable (I only included a few people here), but one rule I like
to impose at the outset is a "friends of friends" rule where by
everyone playing must be connected to every other player through one
friend they personally know and trust. You should notice that,
including myself, you have personally met no less than two other
people included in this mailing.

If everyone on my list and no one else were to play, the gift would
amount to $1550, and the game would be chock-full of tons of vicious
physicists, so those not competitive or calculating be ware! It also
includes people presently in at least five different countries on
three continents.

You should play this game with me!

PS: If you don't want to play, at least get a good laugh at the part
of my pdf that says "Act Fast! Only 1 ticket left at this price!"
Yeah, because $21,000 to get from Osaka to Buenos Aires tomorrow is an
amazing deal!
