Even the words of a condescending person is as much valued as much as it is hated.
Someone who is optimistic is passed off as naive.

Those are two statements that I strongly agree with... I guess it has to do with what I've had to deal with for almost two years.

...I guess cynical people, or people who just generally shoot down people and/or ideas all the time tend to be considered more intelligent since they make everyone else feel foolish for believing in something that may indeed be flawed or invalid. Combine that with the tendency of many people to avoid conflict (i.e., argument) in the name of maintaining some semblance of civility, and another dimension is added, one similar to an aggressor imposing their will on others. The funny thing is that a lot of people who constantly present a cynical attitude often do so out of fear of looking foolish themselves. Why risk looking foolish when you can just deny everything with a smirk? You can't be wrong if you devalue everything, right? On the flip side, it would be interesting to see how many people make statements that they've fully validated, or are willing to put through the process of validating. Foolish optimism is far different from a well analyzed plan of action to accomplish a goal coupled with can-do determination and a willingness ( ... )
