Dear Friends,
Through being in these communities, we have found great friends. We have found shoulders to cry on in our times of need and in times of frustration. We have met some people with the biggest, kindest hearts imaginable. I call on these kind, generous hearts to help us.
About 200 Americans are diagnosed with Adrenal Cancer each year with nearly no chance of survival at five years for those diagnosed with advanced disease. A good friend of our communities namesakes/portrayer, Spencer Bell, lost his battle with this disease in December of 2006. Spencer Bell was a very good friend of Jackson Rathbone and some of the members of 100 Monkeys throughout their time together at Interlochen Arts Academy. He was a wonderful poet and musician as well. (to learn about Spencer, his music, and his legacy, please click here) Although in body he is gone, his music and memory are still alive.

At the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, Spencer’s family has set up an endowment that not only funds Adrenal Cancer research, but also undergraduate and graduate Summer internships in laboratory science pertaining to Adrenal Cancer at the Endocrine Oncology Program.
