Lots of things rival Final Fantasy, to be honest a lot of them are incredibly overrated. (Although FF7 still remains in my opinion one of the best games ever) nonetheless 1 or two games do not reflect the series.

I know, but I'm a pretty big Final Fantasy fanboy, so... nothing beats Final Fantasy for me. Except for maybe Kingdom Hearts and Persona (I'm a JRPG addict).

The word DS-Note popped into my head as soon as I finished reading your post. Hahahahaha!

Hm, This game is made by Atlus, so I can see myself playing the game. :)

Atlus is really fantastic. My ex had been bugging me to buy Disgea for the longest time, and I've got a really strange feeling that's going to be my next purchase besides Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.

Atlus also translated a Super Robot Wars game on a handheld console, Gameboy I think. It was like a wish come true for me when they did that that!

It started to peak my interest, but then I watched the game play. I lose patience with tactical rpgs. I tried, even gave it a couple of chances. Ah well.

I enjoy the occasional tactical RPG, but I've always liked the more 'Final Fantasy-eque' combat. I'm trying to break more into strategy games and broaden my horizons, but I don't usually find them as addictive.

I'm a huge fan of this game. I'm a jrpg fan and just japanese fan in general. Seeing a game like this or the world ends with you makes me salivate. As for style of rpg i can do tactics or turn based its all good. It does borrow from other games but other games borrow from others. nothings original anymore. Except maybe scribblenauts. Keep playing you wont be amazed but satisfied with this game. Please tell me you've played super robot taisen on ds.
