It doesn't make you a hermit. You just enjoy different interaction than the stereotypical "college" party. You're not antisocial.
Sometimes I am not in the mood for a typical "party" either. Sometimes, I force myself to go anyway, just to exercise my mental capacity for that type of social interaction. But I try not to make myself feel guilty about not wanting to go when I don't want to go. So you shouldn't either!
i totally get that. i'm the same way i hate the drinking and the drugs atmosphere. and i hate the whole peer pressure thing and i have that stuff thing going on in my family too and i don't want that to happen to me. i'm overly cautious or something but i dont care its just what i like and what i'm comfortable with. i hate stupid parties. you know what kinda party i like? one that involves pizza and good tv! now that is fun! IN FACT I'M HAVING ONE OF THOSE RIGHT NOW! you should be here. no staying in doesn't make you a hermit. but it is good to meet new people i love doing that too. its just a matter of meeting quality people who can sit around and talk to you for hours without the alcohol in their system. so anyway i wanted you to know i get it. and i dunno i always get along better with older people too.
and i mean that. even if i am fucking trashed. and i hate that i keep saying that. it's like i'm trying to brag about it but i'm fuckign not.... i misss you so much i'm like two seconds from crying but i hate crying in front of other people, as you know, and jenny's still awake.....
and don't lament your being different... that's why i love you... that's why you're so wonderful... it's because you're unique... and amazing... and i love you... and i miss you... and i'm being redundan\t but i dont give a shit... i should go to sleep... and wake up tomorrow to go to brunch....
TOTALLY. khail, don't ever change. you being so different from every one else is why you are the best friend i've ever had. seriously, if you were to change that, i'd still love you like a brother, but you wouldn't be as fun and as totally awesome.
and i'm still not getting any work done. i wanted to reply to your statement of maturing too fast. it was something i had to do as well when i was growing up because my mother was never around (for reasons you already know of), and my at-the-time-step-father (because he's not anymore) was a truck driver and always out on the road.
at a very young age, i already knew how to cook my own dinner, wash my own clothes, make sure i got up for school in time and every thing else. personally, i think maturing at such a young age only makes you a stronger person in the end, ready for any new challenges that may arise.
