I remember doing a job for the our government here in Australia a few years ago, part of it involved reviewing the regulation laws we have with our banking and financial sector, considered draconian by world standards, we have very tight regulations on our financial institutions ( Read more... )

lol I don't think it will be that bad, I think most countries will stabilize and go forward some time next year.

Yeah, I'm not worries. So many people are so stressed and worried.
I'm just not.

Just gotta' watch my personal spending and we'll see how things turn out.

I was just reflecting. :P

Greenspan was right in that the more you interfere the less chance you have of things going wrong but you also interfere with things going right as well.

During the good years we never really have the kind of growth like other countries which have far less control, it is pretty hard here to develop new technologies or build new industries, there is too much control and that sends a lot of business overseas and not a lot of room for speculative financing.

However, when the shit hits the fan we are generally fairly well protected.
