i've got plans to see marie antoinette. what did you think of notes on a scandal? my mum went to see it and wrote me a weird email about wanting to go to the movies more even though notes was only "okay".

trent, warren and i saw volver on sunday at the highland. it was amazing!

i went to see notes with miriam on sunday night - it made us both pretty uncomfortable, but was a well done movie. judi dench was good, for sure.

i was supposed to see volver with ewald last night but we decided to see babel instead. it's my fave so far.

saw dreamgirls tonight. i could have waited until they play it on city tv. 40 minutes of stupid crap musical songs out of nowhere could have been cut out, but the costumes and make-up were great. it should win one of either of those prizes, but that's it. eddie murphy basically played himself. i was waiting for him to do the beverly hills cop laugh.

so yeah, like the black dhalia, visually stunning, but more annoying with all the stupid songs, less macabre/interesting, and less amazing lines like: "get the picture?" "technicolour, baby."

by the way...where's the highland?

i went to see it tonight. i thought it was pretty awesome too.

i hated penelope cruz in vanilla sky, mainly because she was the good woman and so serene. here she's good, but doesn't take shit. she's smart as a whip, which is great.

haha, ewald described it as "vaginal".

the highland is on wharncliffe south (south of the cove - i think it's across from ballett's the bridal shop). it's not bad. a little expensive for an old school theatre. and out of the way for us but i had to see volver.

vaginal! hahahahahaha - pretty accurate. it's totally a "women's film" which i loved.
