:D That's so hilarious. I think with the telemarketers the silence has something to do with the computer connecting them after your phone picks up. But we don't get the silent people on the phone, actually...we get the pre-recorded people. Like John Kerry, former presidential candidate and senator. We got him TWICE. Which was annoying, although it did get us out of bed at 10 in the morning already. ;) I don't even answer the phone unless caller ID flashes up a number I know. Otherwise, I figure if it's that important they can leave a message.

Yeah that's probably it! It's useful really ;p

Hahahahaha really?! XD At least it's easier to hang up on those ones I reackon. When it's a real person I feel obliged to let them talk if I havn't hung up before they've said anything already.

Nice! You know, turns out there are a lot more people out there that leave their phones a-ringing sometimes then I thought! My mum, on the other hand, is a maniac. If we accidently miss a call (or, erm, I just don't answer it) she goes on a rampage.

GRRRRRRR TELEMARKETERS! It's so odd too, because though I hate them, I do feel sorry for them.
