I owe the federal government $849, which sounds awful but is actually way less than I'd budgeted for. I was self-employed for part of 2006 (fact-checking).

The state of California owes me $49. I owe Illinois one dollar and four cents. Thankfully, I don't have to put up with the Louisiana tax forms this year.
