Draco Malfoy was not amused.

He had been walking quite peacefully in Hogwarts’s premises, alone and in thought and troubling absolutely no-one (as shocking as it sounded like), and then someone had had the nerve to throw a snowball at him. At him, of all people.

And when he had turned around, his expression a mix of bewilderment, confusion and disbelief, he had seen them. That damned golden Trio in all its glory, accompanied by several of their Gryffindork-oops, Gryffindor class mates.

Figures.

Draco couldn’t really tell if the snowball belonged to Potter or his Weasel friend, though, for both of them wore identical half amused, half (feignedly) innocent expressions on their faces, but it didn’t really matter either way. While pushing the remnants of the snowball off of his shoulder, Draco made a point to glare at them both equally, accompanying it with his trademark Malfoy sneer.

“Alright, Potter,” he calmly began, “what exactly was that?”

“A snowball,” he heard Potter answer, an amused tone to his voice.

“I am aware of that,” Draco said, feeling irritated at the way the Weasel boy was laughing at him. “I was merely inquiring the reason behind such a childish act.”

Potter raised a curious eyebrow at that. “Well, we are having a snowball fight,” he explained.

“And that also entitles you to attack innocent bystanders?”

“We’re sorry, it was an accident,” Potter said, but Draco could tell that he really wasn’t.

Well, to be honest, neither would he, should he be in Potter’s position.

Too bad Slytherins rarely indulged in such childish games.

“I’m sure,” he murmured, shook his head and threw a last glance at the others, then turned to leave.

Only to turn around to demand, “Alright, who did it this time?!” when another snowball hit him squarely on the back.

Weasel couldn’t contain his glee, and upon noticing it, Draco’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Weasel, you’re in trouble now!”

“Bring it on, you little ferret,” the redheaded boy urged him.

“You don’t think I have it in me to kick you ass, do you?” Draco demanded as he reached down to get a handful of snow.

The other only laughed at him, and Draco sneered, sending the first snowball flying at him, hitting him in the face. Draco smiled, satisfied.

And thus broke out a large and definitely wild snowball fight, everybody against everybody, that lasted long into the night.

one-shot, hp
