The Weekend

This past weekend was interesting. Lots of highs, but some lows too. Life is so strange.

Just as an example:

Low point - OSU lost. I don't know what is going on there...

High point - U of M won. They seem to be doing pretty well...

Liz, time to shed some light...

Ohio State's main problem this year is their lack of a running game. Two years ago when they won the national championship, Maurice Clarett made the offensive line look really good. Last year, even though we had trouble running behind a bad O line, Krenzel at quarterback and an unbelievable defense were enough to win almost all the games. This year, the running game is still terrible, but its also combined with an awful quarterback. The defense is still really, really good, but not as good as the past two years. All of this adds up to a season where we may be lucky to make a bowl game, but will hopefully play the spoilers against Michigan in the last game of the year (as they loved to do against us in years past). The QB's are still young, so hopefully they will learn to throw the ball by next year.

I very much appreciate this insight. I'm trying to be a good college football fan, but it is very difficult without someone around to constantly explain what is going on. I'm getting better though!

I watched the U of M game this past weekend, that one guy, Hart I think? He is really good, and only a freshman! And I think our QB is a freshman too, Henne? Maybe that means in the future, when they are seniors, U of M will just be unstoppable! :)

I have a feeling that U of M will beat OSU this year, although if I drink enough I might still yell out the OH - IO cheer. We'll see!
