how do you cut the elastic out of the bottom of sweatpants so that the hem doensn't fray/get nasty?

You cut through the stitched seam on the inside bottom of the pant leg, and hold onto the elastic with one hand. After you've cut through the stitches, you just pull the elastic through. It works well, and doesn't waste any length. The incision should be invisible when viewed from the front, back, or side. Whee. Do you know when we will recieve the stuff we ordered for crew? I do not remember what I got. I think I did the jacket and spandex pants, but I forget what the other option was.

yeah my mother made me do that when i got the ea pants last year. it was literally a rubber band inside. not even elastic!
and of course i also had to sew the edges up after it all. rawr.
