YES.

Well, at least, that is what they are saying now. And they've laid off the entire Delicious team. Hopefully, someone will buy it from them, but in case it goes the way of Geocities, there's a lot of talk as to where to go next...

ALSO, HI! It's been a long time!

XD It has been. Hi!

And just... wow. Yahoo, don't buy things if you can't fucking keep them.

What's wrong with these people... I freaking loved geocities, man. Ugh. Any word on when it's happening? Gahhh, this is such a terrible time of year. Did you hear about that ridiculous bill that was passed in Japan?! Gah! My glorious shrimp, dammit!

(But oh man, I am ten kinds of fucking fire-setting slow painful death by intestinal torture pissed off at phone companies right now. Having trouble thinking clearly.)

Oh my god, you're right. What douchebags to lay all those people off at CHRISTMAS. Ugh.

Yahoo has essentially confirmed that they intend to shut it down, but the information was a leak, so they clearly haven't prepared an official statement on it yet. Here's hoping someone sees the user strength and buys the thing.

I'd be totally willing to either pay for a deliciious membership or suffer through banner ads. Just sayin'.

Delicious has posted on their blog that they are looking for a buyer and do not plan to shut down!

Yay! There is wayyy too much shrimp stored there for them to kill it all. I am still seething over geocities. XD They don't have a very smart model... no ads, anything. I can't believe they're killing off an entire department right before christmas, though.

haha, well, Geocities USED to be used :D :D :D

But, yeah. :/ WTF, it's a thriving, active community. At least sell it off.
