"i mean a confused young girl who just got pregnant is not going to seek out a black market abortion, i just cant see it happening."

not saying that i know from experience or anything, but coming from a girl, i can definately see that happening. if they are embarassed to tell anyone, scared, and cofused, it is amazing to see what someone would do. i've heard, stories, and although i would never do that, i can definately see it crossing a girl's mind.

ok, even if it did cross her mind, it still doesnt mean that it should be legal, or moreover availible. theres no reason to pander to irresponsible individuals. if you want to behave in such a way that it will put you in that position, the least the girl could do is endure her pregnancy and give the child up for adoption rather than take the easy way out. i mean following the logic behind abortion, why not have little suicide shops so that people who royally f*ck up can go kill themselves? is there much of a diffrence?

back to black market abortions though, if someone wants to put themselves in possible danger (infection, etc) to get an illegal abortion thats there choice. the practice on the whole, however, should simply not be availible to people using it as an escape route because they couldnt act decent.

i just wanted to comment on my comment and then jeff's. i was merely pointing out that going to a black market abortionist would cross a girl's mind if the procedure were not legal. i can fully see it happening, and thought i would point out that it could happen since jeff really couldn't see it happening. i really wasn't commenting on whether or not it should be legal or not, and for now, i'm not going to comment. i'm not mad or anything, just don't feel like it right now.

yeah you know who this is... if some girl gets knocked up and doesn't want hte responsibility then she deserves whatever negative effects that come with "underground" abortions. for god's sake if you want what's best for the child, put it up for adoption. if the girl's confused then she should obviously look for help. there are plenty of organizations whose sole purpose is to help people in that situation. people just don't want the burden and responsibility. and when you're pregnant you're responsible for that new life. what i really love is how people will spend thousands of dollars to save a pet but never think twice about spending $500 to kill their unborn kid. but that's a different story...

man thats messed up i agree, these people really should get there practice banned and, like the rapists, taken out to the fields and shot in the crotch for the fact they mess with other people's critch and stomach areas and then shot in the head, like the brain thing

I absolutely agree with you on this Jeff. You made some very good points and explained what you had in mind. I wantd to just play a little devils-advocit here. What about the people, like just recently on the news, that kill their babies and the corps's are found in the garbage and in cement trucks. If (in a needed but krazy way) abortion was made illegal, do you think we would see more of this, or do you believe women and men would think more about unprotected sex? Personally, i believe the world will continue on this self-centered path it is on now until something MAJOR happens. Major being a nuclear war or another World War or something. Anything that would bring us all together, conservatives and liberals. But until then, i have no qualm we will continue this path of social decay.

my personal opinion is that i dont think that such murders of infants are a result of an unexpected pregnancy. it is my understanding that the people cited in the news that were alleged to have killed 2 of their infants and buried them in concrete, had 2 living children as well. additionally, abortion is legal still and these killings still happen. the bottom line is that such killings are not motivated by unwanted pregnancy. i cannot really pinpoint the motivation but i can say this. whether the killing of the child be methodical as mentioned above, or a more spare the moment thing, like the garbage incidents, the individuals in question certainly do not belong amidst decent people in society. this may seem a bit extreme but i certainly would not have a problem with applying the death penalty to such individuals. for example, there was an individual a few months ago who was charged with burning his infant to death. he got 18 years. this person definatly deserves to be dragged out and shot. for furture writings i think we ( ... )
