I have loads to do at the moment.  I still haven't got cracking on my literature review and, as usual, my summer to-do list is as long as your arm.  So it will come as no surprise that this week I decided I wanted had to have a climbing rose for the very bare corner of my ugly collection of concrete slabs patio.  This vital decision made I spent ( Read more... )

Ooh, it's a very pretty rose. Here's hoping you have success with it. I haven't tinkered much with roses myself, but they do like to be fed. So the rose food is definitely a good idea, I think.

I'm going to pick some rose feed up today, so fingers crossed. :)

They had some lovely varieties at the garden centre - I almost, almost bought one called Jude the Obscure ( http://www.rdrop.com/~paul/austins/jude.html fantastic, strong perfume) but I'll see how I get on with this one first.

While it's not in a container, the following short article by the RHS may be useful as I imagine the soil under a patio will not have much nutrient.
