But the man who worked there said he would take it home and charge it in his computer which was the same model as mine and I could come in tomorrow (now today) and get it.

It does? I mean, if he were offering to take my computer or anything that could give him access to my stuff then it'd be a bit weird. But I don't think there's anything sleazy you can do with a battery.
