Characters: Kurosaki Ichigo, Mia Fey, Flute, Kuchiki Rukia
Content: B-B-BACKDATED? Shortly after the attack, Ichigo seeks help for Rukia's special injuries.
Location: Madison Square garden
Time of Day: Afternoon
Ichigo leaned against the wall and stretched, taking a moment to try and work the soreness out of his muscles. He felt vaguely guilty for being selfish, even for a brief time, but he really needed it. Getting an unconscious Rukia out of immediate danger and then finding and dragging Chad out of the rubble had been tough enough, and both had scared the hell out of him. When he'd gotten wind that a shelter had been set up in the Garden, he knew he had to get them both there immediately.
Rukia was no problem; Ichigo had carried her on his back enough times, even if a knocked-out Rukia was something else. Chad was a lot bigger. In the end he'd gotten them both there, going as fast as he could, resulting in his now slightly-strained muscles. They were a small price to pay.
Volunteer medics had taken Chad away; Ichigo crossed his fingers that his buddy would be as tough as he always had been and bounce back. Rukia, though...he'd always thought of her as one of the strongest people he knew, no matter what her size. It had been alarming to see her and Chad get taken out by the monster's rampage. Once they're gotten to the Garden, one of the volunteers had looked at Rukia and declared her in no immediate danger. Only then had Ichigo gotten a closer look at her injuries.
He was no doctor, but he knew enough to identify them as crab bites. And they weren't new.
It had been really damn tempting to shake her awake and read her the riot act. How long had she been hiding them? Was she stupid? But that could wait until she was healed. Unfortunately, Ichigo wasn't sure how to do that.
So, exhausted and not sure what else he could do-always the stupid fighter, always useless when his friends needed him-he turned to the only person he could think of at the moment.
"Mia?" he said, approaching the woman as she stood supervising another group of volunteers. "Um, can I talk to you?"
