If you were Catholic right now, you would not be buying indulgences to get out of purgatory early, just so you know (speaking of stupid, ignorant and hateful). I'm not even Catholic anymore and I'm offended by that. I hope you don't actually believe that.

Congrats about the Body for life. Let me know if it works!

If it was not for the Protestant Reformation and Martin Luther, yes, the Catholic church would still be selling indulgences. Thanks to Martin Luther and many others, the Catholic church has transformed into what it is now. I'm completely aware that selling indulgences doesn't happen in the modern Catholic church, but it would if things hadn't changed a long time ago. If nothing had changed, we would still be in the Dark Ages. That was my point. Things were really screwed up back then, so there was a reformation and things are better now. If it happened back then, maybe it could happen now. Just maybe things are screwed up now (and I believe they are, especially with some Baptist doctrines), so just maybe we need a reformation to make things better. Reformation is not always bad.

Oh, ok. I was not informed that you have this unique ability to predict the future/past based on your personal beliefs and affinities. I also had no idea that you were such the expert on the Catholic church.
There were numerous factors involved in the evolution of the Catholic church. Luther and the Protestant reformation were some important ones, but it would have happened with or without them. Don't underestimate the Catholics--they're smarter than you think.
Of course reformation is not necessarily bad. And yes, things were screwed up then, but I wouldn't say that they are necessarily better now. We only realize that the "Dark" ages were screwed up in hindsite. Maybe you can use your amazing psychic powers to see how people will be viewing todays world in the future. Different, yes. Better, who knows?
