getting to know me

Jan 16, 2011 23:29

I'm Maggie, also known from time to time as Daisy or Myra. I'm a 21-year-old INFJ only child from Charlotte, North Carolina.I'm a college junior right now, and I just recently declared as a psychology and sociology major.

This is me:

Things I love: great scenery, shipping, tea, scarves, burritos, reading, blasting music and singing along (badly), Paris, playing board games, new clothes, making friends, TV Tropes, learning interesting things, my mom, movies, traveling (I've been to Italy, France, England, Germany, Greece, and Spain, but I want to go everywhere), overanalyzing TV and books, indie rock, making fun of stupid things, snow, and anything that makes me laugh.

I grew up watching West Wing and Frasier, and reading just about anything I could get my hands on. My first real obsessive loves were the Little House books, Harry Potter, and anything by Tolkien I could get my hands on. Star Wars (EU, especially pilot love) was my first fandom. Reading was my first love, but I do so much of it for college that TV is easier for me to get into during my leisure time these days. As far as TV is concerned, I caved about a year ago and made an actual list of all the shows I ought to watch. That should give you an idea of how extensive it is.

Nowadays, I'm not active in a ton of fandoms, with the exception of The Vampire Diaries and The Social Network. But I love a million other things, and will happily flail about, overanalyze, and/or read fic of Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, The Vampire Diaries, Veronica Mars, Merlin, Doctor Who, Chuck, Castle, How I Met Your Mother, Fringe, Big Bang Theory, Community, West Wing, Mad Men, Friday Night Lights, Generation Kill, Band of Brothers, and The Pacific (and I will add others as I remember them). I tend to ship canon things, except when I don't. I don't ship real people, except when I do. The more satisfied I am with a show/book, the less likely I am to read fic of it, except when I read it anyway. Right now, The Social Network has taken over my mind, but it shares time with The Vampire Diaries and occasionally Doctor Who and Harry Potter.

If you're interested in contacting me outside of LJ, I have a Tumblr here, and a Twitter here. My AIM and Skype names are both Mirax91, though I'm not on Skype all that often. You can email me at sketchingbirds at gmail.
