When I originally read this god knows how many years ago the ending was different. Instead of him having slept with Teresa he had not slept with her making Hell exothermic.
This version is incorrect since, as Hell has frozen over, it must be endothermic since cold things take in heat. Further the corollary does not follow from the deducted proposition since the proposition states that Hell is expanding at a faster rate than the rate that souls are entering it. Nothing is said of the existence of Heaven nor that Hell should even be closed nor that being "cold" is equivalent to being frozen over.
