I recently acquired an indoor/outdoor thermometer. Tonight, I went out to my balcony to install the "outdoor" portion of it. It had been a while since I went out there, so I spent some time sweeping up tree detritus and clearing away cobwebs (this area seems to be very popular with spiders). After things got all cleaned up, I found a good spot

That happened to me once, as well. In my case I had to break the one window that overlooked the deck [else I would have needed to break the stupid glass patio door]. If you think it was ungainly for you to clamber in, using a chair - imagine me doing it without a chair, thru a broken window. [shudder] Not one of my better moments.
