Me: So, my course literally ends today and, although I've been seeking full time work for the past two months, I'm only working part-time right now. Is there anyway I can reduce my monthly payment as my loan is coming out of deferment next month ( Read more... )

All Student Loans companies are really quite amazing business models, I think.

I was sort of on the flipside...I graduated in 2003, and this year, yes, 2012, I have FINALLY started to repay my loan. After YEARS of trying to pay them and them, every time, failing to actually take any money from me. And every time telling me it was done now, and in 2-3 months I would see repayments on my payslip. And every 2-3 months I wouldn't, and I'd call them again... It was so infuriating!

It's just such a mess to deal with them. Just found out that this big student loan I have was actually bought out by another company, so I'm going to see if I have any luck with them. There customer service line is open 24/7 instead of only certain days and times, so that has to be a good start!
