Unexpectedly Transplanted

I never thought that I would do it, but I got an account on Twitter just over 5 weeks ago. Activity on LJ has been steadily declining for years, and it seemed to me that people must have made New Years resolutions to stop using LJ both last year and this year. I would have preferred to continue using LJ as a social media hangout, however it is now ( Read more... )

...the original design that looks a little odd, even ugly in some respects. :-/ OK, maybe that is too strong...

Even Hasbro pokes fun at their original ponies! http://youtu.be/T8NaesRxxck

I saw that. :-) It's nice that they paid some kind of homage to their roots.

No need to give up LJ if it still suits you. I left over issues with the way the site was managed, which I think was the major impact leading to the current decline.

It's good to see you on Twitter, though. ;D

I think that if LJ had just not spent so much effort on making changes for the sake of change, and breaking things in the process, they still might not have been the #1 website, but they would now be much more than they ever were. At the very least, they would not have gone into a protracted decline.

Wind Whistler was my absolute favorite of the G1 ponies, because she was both the smartest and in many ways the toughest out of the lot. She was a member of an extremely peaceful and conformist species who was a ruthless, brilliant badass, which is why she was Megan's favorite. Because Megan herself was a ruthless, brilliant badass in her own right, and as a descendant of killer apes, a whole order of magnitude more deadly than any of the G1 Ponies. Which they realized, and were glad she was on their side.

I'd have to actually rewatch some of the old series to say much more, but I agree that Wind Whistler could very well have been the most badass of the G1 ponies if she wanted to be.

While I don't like (or read) Twitter, myself, anything that encourages you to post more frequently anywhere is a good thing. ^^

Oh! :-) That's a compliment, so thank-you. Our paths will still cross frequently.

Windwhistler was always my favourite! A smart, formidable pony, not to be taken lightly.

Back in the days when being smarter than everyone else made you socially less desirable, she was frequently in exactly the same situations that many of us found ourselves in.

These days, things are different, at least once you're an adult. Kids on the other hand are probably the same as ever.
