It's maddening. I can see the influences - Ellis and Ennis, especially, some Lovecraft as well - but the ideas are nonetheless wholly original, the tone and cadence all your own. The best word to describe this piece is "hypnotic"; the reader is lured and lulled into the tale just as the woman is... and, like her, we are left with a feeling of peace somewhat darkened by a greater truth and realisation.
Wow! Thank you. That means a great deal and also kind of humbling since it comes from someone published who first book went to second printing in a matter of days.
