The common house hippo - resident of Eastern Canada, and the North Eastern 1/4 of the USA. Once a fearless predator of rodents, but now found more commonly in dust piles at the foot of your master bed. These veracious eaters will swallow entire socks, with a penchant for eating only the left variety. They will also be known to horde ball point pens. Particularly around the time you expect to write shopping lists or school notes for your seven year old. House Hippos generally require little cleanup and are very quiet. Rarely seen, they would rather be left to their solitary ways.
