Lovely description. I especially loved this line"Sometimes regret comes and gently puts her head on my knee. A nice read!

I enjoyed this, especially the reflective mood contrasting with the keep going forward part earlier. Nice use of the Dar Williams lyrics to frame this.

I enjoyed this quite a bit. I, too, find such times of day to be good ones for reflection.

Your descriptions of mornings and wanting to stay in in bed just because it feels so good is like me exactly almost every morning, like I just love being able to enjoy the feeling of blanket and pillow and the stillness and the space between dreaming and awake

The end too really captured the wistfulness of an evening!

A good read and nice use of the prompt <3

It seems as if the only thing to truly regret is not having arrived sooner at the point where you realized you could and should leave. And there isn't much to be done about that-- you knew that at the first opportunity you could, given how things were.

And you got there. That's the most important part of all.
