Atlantia Coronation Disney Garb Challenge: Cheshire cat hat and event pictures

So the finishing touch for my dress is a hat, I love German hats and the Cheshire cat dress gives me the perfect excuse for a new purple hat.
Looking at the woodcut, you cannot see the crown of the hat, but the brim looks like a modification of the flat cap pattern. It appears that the brim has been cut in two pieces and overlapped which tilts the hat up and away from the face. I figure this is a good starting point for the hat so away I went.
The hat started by making a head oval for me. I then drafted the pattern from this oval.
I traced the oval onto some very thick interfacing I had laying around. I then split the oval at the front and the back. I cut the hard corners off the edges of the split to make a nicer line. I took the interfacing pieces and cut 1 layer of white linen and two layers of wool flannel. I then zigzag stitched the white linen to the interfacing. The white linen is because I have decided to slash the wool on the hat and I did not want the interfacing to show through the slashes.
I stitched the two layers of wool flannel together. Then clipped and turned the pieces. Once the brim pieces were turned, I cut the pattern bits out. Then I worked the interfacing with the white linen cover into the brim fabric. Here is the brim fabric turned and cut before adding the interfacing and then after.
The crown was cut as a basic flat cap, with cut outs on the crown. On the left are the pattern pieces. I then stitched the lining pieces together and the fashion fabric together (picture of the right).
I then hand stitched the brim pieces to the crown pieces. Finally I added tack stitching to hold the brim pieces overlapped.
Finished! Well, I still need feathers, but had no luck finding any locally. So those will have to be added later!
And here are some pictures of myself and my friend together.
