Fiction 55 Friday (weeks 5 & 6)

I didn't get around to post a fiction 55 last Friday so today I've got something of a special treat. Part 1 and part 2 of a 4 part series. I had the idea for this several weeks ago and the more I thought about it the more it grew and took on a life of its own. In the end the shortest I could get the word count to and still tell the story I wanted

Dal, it's almost impossible when you get an idea this good!!
The imagery of the slave screaming is incredible.

That one line is why this is parts one and two of four rather than one and two of three. I was just typing and got carried away. Then I fell in love the with imagery and couldn't get rid of it. The same thing happened with one of the other two parts and rather than having the entire thing in two parts it's now four.
I want to refrain from doing any more multiple part entries. It makes me feel like I'm cheating to get around the 55 words. After the next two weeks, I'm going to buckle down again. :)
