here's how to really read that, if nobody picked up on it implied words carried over from previous lines are in the parenthises or however you spell that. be sure to read every word, though most final words of every line will repeat on the next:

saw you yesterday for what(?)

(for what) i swear it was the first time

(the first time) we met unaware

(we met unaware) like dying strangers

(like dying strangers) on a train

(on a train) trans-great plain

that was
destined to crash

(crash) into me if you will

(will) my pulse to slow to a stop

(stop) calling me when you feel

(when you feel)that cold in the atmospe?e

(fear) of dying alone

(loan) me a consolidated sum

(some)thing to never be again

(a gain) of trust and the opposite
