Everything old is new again

My elder daughter went shopping and came back with an olive green pleather jacket that was exceedingly reminiscent of the one that Hutch used to wear in the show. If I wasn't substantially larger than she is, there would be quite the tussle over that jacket. She is not a fan of S&H by the way, and looked quite appalled when I made comparisons.

Oh, goodness. I had a green pleather coat in the 70s. I couldn't wear one of them again! But it's the style now. I know my dress that I bought for the S&H disco party at SHarecon is new yet it looks like a 70s dress. When I wrote it in Houston at Revelcon, somebody asked me how long I had saved that dress!

If the world has to go retro I'd rather have the softer lines of the seventies than the power shoulders of the eighties. :0)

omg, me, too. Even tho some of that '70's stuff is pretty awful, the '80's were HIDEOUS!

Lol, this cracked me up! I have a 14-yr-old daughter---the same age I was when I discovered Hutch. I have tried showing her episodes from Youtube and she thinks their gay. She also tells me that Starsky is waaaaay cuter than Hutch, and I must be crazy. Good grief, where did this kid COME from? Certainly not my Hutch-loving loins! LOL I've found myself wishing I had a S and H poster...now where would a 45 year old woman put that? On the wall of my closet?!?

Heh. When my then nineteen year old was watching eps over my shoulder, she had two thoughts. a) Starsky was disturbingly attractive despite the heinous seventies clothes and b) both of them were gay as a very cheerful thing.

Lol, when you watch it with them, it's so easy to see why they say that! I keep saying, "no...they're just really good friends!" must be why slash is so fun to read.
