Interesting, and oh so true. How many of us don't have at least one gay friend, if not more. Very different to when I was growing up. I don't think I heard the term 'gay' until I was an older teenager starting my first job. Was't there a time homosexuality was illegal in Britain; a hanging offense?
They may be 'out of the closet' here in USA, but there is still so very much prejudice. One friend complains he can not marry his partner, has no legal rights regarding estates, inheritances etc. And neither have come out to their family, even after a twelve year relationship!

That particular law was repealed in 1861. *g*

Here there is less prejudice depending on where you live.
