Every once in a while a song hits me in whatever mood I'm in and I can just listen to it over and over again and contemplate.
My "current" song for this is Under The Milky Way by The Church.
Sometimes when this place gets kind of empty
Sound of their breath fades with the light
I think about the loveless fascination
Under the Milky Way tonight
Lower the curtain down on Memphis
Lower the curtain down all right
I got no time for private consultation
Under the Milky Way tonight
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
And it's something quite peculiar
Something shimmering and white
Leads you here despite your destination
Under the Milky Way tonight
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
Under the Milky Way tonight..
Under the Milky Way tonight...
The words in themselves don't quite do the song full meaning as the music helps as well. Its 2 guitars with a simple drum beat and a bit of synth and accent thrown in. Song came out in '88 I think it was.
And of course, the whole Milky Way thing and my astronomy love meshes well...
